Laborer
III- MUST POSSESS CURRENT CDL GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Operating various trucks, tractors, front-end loader, backhoe and related light and medium motorized equipment as needed. Operates dump trucks, residential refuse collection trucks, empties vehicle at the end of each day, ensures proper maintenance of equipment, cleans and checks equipment after each use, performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor. Assists with snow/ice removal, operates snow plow and spreader, assists in emergency or inclement weather situations as required. Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the operation and servicing of motorized equipment; thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation; thorough knowledge of safe driving practices and occupational hazards of the work; skill in the operation of motorized equipment; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to detect signs of the mechanical failure of the automotive and packing equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates'.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in the operation of light to medium motorized equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
possession of a Class B CDL driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

$40,321.00 - $60,014.00 per year
