Sign-On Bonus:
First $125 paid after 30 days of employment; the remaining $125 paid at the end of the season.

Why This Role Matters The Grounds Laborer - Maintenance supports the successful operation of federal facilities by ensuring grounds and exterior areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This role directly contributes to meeting contract requirements, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting a respectful and productive work environment aligned with Didlake values. What You Will Do Perform day-to-day operations of a federal site grounds maintenance contract. Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial, and public properties, including buildings, parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, athletic fields, and greenhouses. Cut grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2,000 lbs). Trim hedges and edge around walkways, flowerbeds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools. Prune shrubs and trees to enhance appearance and promote healthy growth. Apply fertilizer and insecticide to lawns, shrubs, and trees. Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; water lawns and shrubs using hoses or sprinkler systems during dry periods. Remove leaves, litter, and debris by burning or carting away. Remove snow from walkways, driveways, roads, and parking lots using shovels and snow blowers; spread salt on walkways and other areas as needed. Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings. Assist with minor repairs to roadways, walkways, buildings, and mechanical equipment. Clean comfort stations, offices, workshops, and parking areas by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing. Ensure correct operation and care of assigned equipment and hand tools. Follow all Contract Statement of Work requirements and Standard Operating Procedures. Meet performance standards through timely, accurate work and adherence to production schedules. Dependability, strong work ethic, and professional personal appearance. Education & Experience Minimum of three (3) months of experience in grounds maintenance. Must have a valid Real ID for access to the work site. Have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old. Skills & Abilities Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials and background checks as required by the contract. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to learn the proper use and operator maintenance of routine grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools. Ability to follow all safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
