Job Description
Make the most of Wisconsin's beautiful fall by working outdoors with the City of West Allis Department of Public Works! We're hiring Temporary Seasonal Laborers for full-time positions through October-Early November, weather permitting. - Open to anyone 18 years or older with a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
FACILITIES
- Starting at $16/hour Mon-Fri 7am-3pm OR Wed-Sun 7am-3pm
- Sign data collection to include setup and takedown of mobile signs
- Park attendant and janitorial duties
FORESTRY
- Starting at $16/hour Mon-Fri 7am-3pm
- Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding
- Tilling and maintaining landscape beds and paths
- Miscellaneous outdoor maintenance
- May assist other divisions during inclement weather Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a driving record that meets City standards:
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 18 months
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 36 months
- No more than 1 chargeable accident in the last 18 months or 2 in the last 36 months
- No more than 6 demerit points in the last 12 months
- No OWI or reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years Physical Requirements Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, including:
- Operating mowing equipment
- Continuous lifting up to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. with assistance
- Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and entering/exiting vehicles
- Working in outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, odors, noise, and traffic
