Job Description:
The Material Planner is responsible for supporting production and manufacturing operations by managing material flow, monitoring inventory, executing MRP-based production schedules, and ensuring materials are available to meet production demands. This role works closely with production, supply chain, warehouse, engineering, and operations teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Execute and manage MRP-based production schedules. Monitor material availability and ensure timely delivery to production areas. Support shop floor execution and coordinate with production supervisors and material control teams. Perform inventory audits and identify risks related to shortages, obsolescence, or misplaced materials. Collaborate with engineering, supplier quality, warehouse, and operations teams to support production schedules. Track work order progress, material consumption, and inventory transactions. Process shipping documents, material requests, release requests, and move orders. Review demand management, stock-out performance, and replenishment activities. Maintain accurate MRP system inputs to avoid production line shortages. Facilitate cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities. Support process improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities. Modify and adjust PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to support production requirements. Support vendor-managed inventory activities. Required Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience using MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of inventory control, production planning, and material flow. Ability to monitor work orders, cycle times, reorder activities, and scrap reports. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Strong process improvement and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Experience in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industries. Customer-focused mindset. Ability to work in cross-functional team environments. Experience Required 1+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Production Planning, or Materials Management. Education Required Associate degree in business, supply chain, technical field, or equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.
