Duties Job summary The Dispatcher Planner in Gadsden, AL will plan and coordinate truck and freight movements with safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. You will work with drivers and the Transportation Department to ensure on-time service. Responsibilities include scheduling, route planning, real-time load updates, and coordination with Customer Experience. A strong DOT regulatory understanding and truck scheduling experience are preferred. Qualifications 12 months of experience in dispatch role Previous trucking or scheduling experience preferred. Knowledge of DOT hazardous waste regulations preferred. Understanding mileage, lanes, and rates. Responsibilities Prioritizes health and safety by following policies and safe practices. Plans inbound and outbound schedules to meet logistics needs. Prepares routes and calculates mileage for scheduling. Keeps daily communications with drivers and directs pickup/delivery. Resolves potential issues before service disruptions. Updates load information in real time and supports payroll/billing. Works with internal teams to improve processes. Skills McLeod Software experience is highly desired DOT Hazmat regs knowledge Transportation market knowledge Geographical routing knowledge High-school diploma or equivalent

Pay:

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
