Job Description
Position Summary The Transportation Clerk at our auto auction will work directly with our Transportation Coordinator and will report directly to the Transport Coordinator. This role supports the day-to-day movement, maintenance, billing, reporting, assisting with scheduling inbound/outbound units daily. This position plays an important role in keeping vehicles moving efficiently between inspection, detailing, staging, auction lanes, and other designated areas. The ideal candidate can manage shipment tracking, driver and customer communication, repair coordination, freight billing and invoicing, scheduling, and reporting. We are searching for knowledge of compliance, who is dependable, safety-conscious, organized, and comfortable working with a large volume of vehicles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate internal trucks and fleet vehicles between designated areas, including inspection, detailing, storage for regular and needed maintenance. Assist with organizing vehicles, managing customer requests, invoicing, organizing records and invoices, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally. Enter transportation charges and fees accurately on customer invoices. Safely handle money transactions between parties purchasing units. Safely operate vehicles on auction property while following all company safety policies and traffic procedures. Assist with locating and retrieving vehicles as needed. Maintain an organized and safe work area.
Keep transportation and truck records organized and compliant. Report vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, missing keys, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor. Complete required paperwork, spreadsheets, daily logs, or electronic documentation accurately. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Previous experience in an auto auction, dealership, transportation, warehouse, or similar environment preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify vehicles. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around the auction facility for extended periods. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
