Responsibilities Manage end-to-end transportation planning and execution, including freight arrangements, road transportation operations, and fleet management to ensure timely deliveries. Oversee warehouse activities such as receiving, picking & packing, inventory control, and materials handling to maintain accurate stock levels. Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and shipping & receiving teams to streamline shipping logistics and international trade compliance. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400 or CMMS for data analysis, order processing, and process improvement initiatives. Monitor regulatory compliance related to transportation safety regulations, customs procedures, and environmental standards while ensuring adherence to all safety protocols. Conduct demand planning and category management to optimize procurement strategies, sourcing decisions, and pricing negotiations. Lead process improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across warehousing, distribution, and transportation functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on inventory management strategies using supply chain analytics for forecasting and demand planning. Skills Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, procurement, and warehouse distribution. Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar software tools. Strong understanding of shipping logistics, freight forwarding, international trade regulations, and regulatory compliance standards. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently; familiarity with materials handling equipment is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and operations management within a logistics environment. Effective team management skills to lead warehouse staff or logistics teams while fostering a safety-conscious work culture. Strong customer service orientation combined with problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges promptly.
