Full-Time Position Summary Sonoran Sales Company is seeking a highly organized, bilingual
Logistics:
Shipping & Receiving professional to coordinate the movement, receipt, documentation, and tracking of materials and finished products entering and leaving our facility. This position serves as a key operational link between Plant Operations, Accounting, Project Management, vendors, carriers, and customers , including Sonoran clients in Mexico. The role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, verifying received materials against Purchase Orders (POs), preparing and maintaining Bills of Lading (BOLs), tracking deliveries, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring shipping and receiving documentation is complete and accurate. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish , highly detail-oriented, comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments, and capable of following materials from purchasing and receipt through production and final customer delivery. Primary Responsibilities Shipping & Logistics Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams. Schedule pickups and deliveries based on production schedules, project requirements, and customer needs. Track shipments from pickup through final delivery and maintain accurate status information. Prepare, review, and maintain Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, shipping documents, delivery records, and proof of delivery . Communicate directly with domestic and international customers, including clients in Mexico , regarding shipment status, delivery coordination, documentation requirements, and order follow-up. Proactively communicate shipment delays, scheduling changes, delivery issues, or discrepancies to the appropriate parties. Coordinate freight and trucking requirements and maintain communication with carriers and drivers. Confirm successful deliveries and obtain and maintain supporting delivery documentation. Communicate shipping schedules with the Plant Manager and Project Managers to support production and project deadlines. Receiving & Inventory Control Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against Purchase Orders, packing slips, quantities, material descriptions, and other receiving documentation . Confirm that materials received match what Sonoran ordered before completing the receiving process. Identify and document shortages, overages, damaged materials, incorrect materials, or other receiving discrepancies. Immediately communicate receiving discrepancies to the Plant Manager, Project Manager, Accounting, or appropriate vendor. Accurately record received materials within company systems. Maintain organized and accurate inventory and receiving records. Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation. Track the location and availability of materials needed for active projects. Help ensure incoming materials are properly identified and available to production when required. Accounting & Documentation Work closely with the Controller and Accounting Department to cross-check Purchase Orders, receiving records, BOLs, packing slips, invoices, and supporting documentation. Verify that quantities and materials received correspond with purchasing and accounting records. Assist in researching and resolving discrepancies between POs, physical receipts, shipping documentation, and vendor invoices . Provide Accounting with complete and accurate shipping and receiving documentation to support timely invoice processing and reconciliation. Maintain organized records that allow shipments, receipts, inventory movements, and transactions to be easily traced and verified. Support accurate PO-based receiving and three-way matching processes. Project & Production Coordination Work closely with Project Managers to understand upcoming material requirements and project schedules. Help confirm that the appropriate materials and inventory have been ordered and received to support manufacturing requirements. Track project-specific materials from purchasing through receipt and availability for production. Monitor material availability and proactively communicate shortages, delays, or discrepancies that could affect fabrication schedules. Coordinate with the Plant Manager regarding incoming materials, production priorities, inventory needs, and outgoing finished products. Help ensure Sonoran has the right materials, in the right quantities, at the right time to manufacture and deliver according to project requirements.
Requirements:
Qualifications Fluency in English and Spanish is required , including professional verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively in both languages with employees, vendors, carriers, drivers, customers, and business partners, including customers located in Mexico. Previous experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, purchasing support, or manufacturing operations preferred. Experience working with Purchase Orders, packing slips, Bills of Lading, invoices, proof-of-delivery documentation, or similar records. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies between physical materials and supporting documentation. Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to coordinate multiple shipments, deliveries, projects, and priorities simultaneously. Strong customer service and follow-up skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, email, and general business software. Experience with ERP, inventory management, accounting, logistics, or manufacturing software preferred. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively across multiple departments. Preferred Experience Experience within a manufacturing, steel fabrication, construction, industrial, or similar environment . Experience coordinating commercial freight, trucking, or large-material deliveries. Familiarity with inventory management and purchasing processes. Experience conducting or assisting with inventory counts and reconciliation. Familiarity with PO-based receiving and three-way matching. Experience coordinating shipments or communicating with customers, vendors, or carriers in Mexico or other international markets is a plus. This individual should be comfortable taking ownership of a shipment or material issue from beginning to resolution rather than simply passing information between departments. Success in this position means maintaining accurate documentation, catching discrepancies early, communicating clearly with all parties, and helping ensure materials and finished products move through Sonoran efficiently and accurately. Work Environment This position works across both office and manufacturing/warehouse environments and regularly interacts with production personnel, Project Managers, Accounting, truck drivers, carriers, vendors, and customers. The employee must follow all Sonoran safety policies and procedures and wear required PPE while working within designated plant, warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas.
