Job Description
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to support the movement of urgent and high-value shipments in Carlsbad, California. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced environment where timing and accuracy are critical. The person in this role will help keep shipments on track, coordinate with multiple parties, and resolve issues quickly to support the successful delivery of sensitive materials.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee active shipments from pickup through delivery, monitoring progress closely and escalating delays or service risks before they impact timelines.
- Review shipment records, quantities, and supporting details to confirm accuracy and address inconsistencies in coordination with relevant partners.
- Work directly with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to obtain status updates and maintain steady communication throughout the shipping process.
- Investigate transportation issues and determine effective solutions to keep urgent deliveries moving with minimal disruption.
- Examine documentation, deadlines, and tracking information with strong attention to detail to ensure shipment data remains accurate and complete.
- Balance several priority shipments at once while meeting deadlines in a high-pressure, time-sensitive setting.
- Apply established logistics procedures and complete training needed to manage shipment tracking activities effectively.
- Provide coordination support for critical deliveries involving medical devices, aerospace components, surgical equipment, trade show materials, and other time-sensitive cargo.
- Assist with shipments tied to prominent organizations and specialized programs that require dependable follow-through and careful handling.
