Evolectric is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain & Operations Intern to assist with key operational activities across logistics, procurement, inventory management, and strategic planning. In this role, you will collaborate on process development to help create and implement new tools and systems, providing hands-on experience with innovative supply chain practices. Key Responsibilities:
Material Resource Planning (MRP): Maintain and update the MRP system to ensure material availability for production. Analyze inventory levels to align supplier deliveries with schedules, preventing shortages or overstocking.
Value Chain and Market Analysis:
Support strategic sourcing efforts by collecting quotes from suppliers, leading negotiations, and conducting bottoms-up cost analyses to drive informed decision-making and cost optimization.
Warehousing and Logistics Operations:
Help design and implement efficient warehouse workflows, conduct inventory audits, and update records to improve accuracy and support logistics processes. Manage the resale of surplus or used parts through platforms like Facebook Marketplace and eBay, optimizing inventory levels while recovering costs.
Supplier Relationships and Procurement:
Communicate with suppliers to facilitate procurement activities and order tracking. Identify cost-saving opportunities in materials and components to support overall supply chain efficiency.
System Integration and Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional and systems teams to build supply chain integrations into the existing PLM system, enhancing data flow and operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving and Process Documentation:
Contribute to supplier performance improvement initiatives, including building modeling tools, and develop clear documentation for processes to ensure team-wide adoption.
Sustainability and Compliance:
Research and propose solutions for sourcing and logistics and assist in compliance documentation for regulatory and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct data-driven problem-solving. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (preferred). Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities. Interest in sustainability and the electric vehicle or autonomous transportation industries.
