Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gate Clerk to oversee entry and exit operations at our distribution facility. In this vital role, you will manage access control for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers, ensuring smooth and secure logistics flow. Your responsibilities include verifying shipments, maintaining accurate logs, and supporting warehouse operations through efficient communication and documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact at our facility, ensuring safety, security, and operational efficiency are upheld at all times. Responsibilities Authorize and document access for employees, visitors, contractors, and transportation providers entering or leaving the facility or yard. Verify inbound and outbound shipments using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Assist with shipping logistics by coordinating load & unload activities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with trade regulations. Support inventory management processes through accurate data entry into inventory management software and tracking systems. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, reach trucks, or forklifts (if certified) to assist with stocking, order picking & packing, and order fulfillment tasks. Maintain detailed logs of all gate activities including inbound/outbound shipments, visitor entries/exits, and incident reports. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries from drivers, vendors, or visitors professionally and efficiently while adhering to security protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and MRP tools is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for shipment verification and inventory counts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Valid certification for forklift operation or reach truck (preferred but not required). Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, trade compliance standards, and international trade regulations is a plus.
