What You'll Own As Planner II, you keep production plans, materials, and schedules aligned so customer orders move from commit to ship on time. You'll resolve schedule discrepancies, adjust plans for changing conditions, and coordinate across Planning, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and the Master Scheduler. Key responsibilities include production scheduling by operation/department, expediting constraints, preparing reports and requisitions, maintaining MRP parameters (lead times, days' supply, EOQ), and developing/maintaining Bills of Material from blueprints while processing engineering changes.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3-5+ years in manufacturing planning/buying/related work ERP proficiency (WDS or equivalent and Oracle) plus strong Excel/Word Ability to interpret technical documents and perform basic math/data analysis Apply if you can manage priorities, communicate clearly, and drive schedule accuracy. Your Typical Day You start by reviewing open work, shortages, and order dates, then check whether today's priorities still match the latest demand and capacity picture.
Expect steady coordination:
quick touchpoints with leads and supervisors, follow-ups on late parts or outside processing, and updates to the system so the schedule reflects reality. Midday is often spent validating BOM updates and routing impacts tied to engineering changes, then confirming what's ready to move and what needs escalation. You wrap by confirming order status and sharing clear updates so teams stay aligned through shipment.
