About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Buyer / Production Planner to manage production requirements, material planning, purchasing, and inventory availability at our Santa Clara manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work directly with our manufacturing team to translate customer sales orders into production requirements, identify material shortages, and ensure components are available to support manufacturing schedules. This position requires someone who can independently manage both production planning and purchasing, rather than specializing in only one of these functions. Key Responsibilities Production Planning Review open customer sales orders and identify outstanding manufacturing requirements. Purchasing & Material Planning Calculate material shortages based on production requirements, available inventory, and incoming materials. Prepare purchase orders and coordinate supplier deliveries. Monitor open purchase orders, supplier lead times, and material availability. Expedite critical components to support production schedules. Coordinate purchasing priorities with Production and Finance. Inventory & ERP Reconciliation Verify inventory availability and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and ERP records. Review outstanding purchase orders and identify incorrect, duplicate, or outdated records. Reconcile production requirements with existing Pending Builds and inventory commitments. Maintain accurate purchasing and material planning information. Assist with implementing and improving inventory and production planning procedures. Review existing assembly builds and create or update Pending Builds in QuickBooks Enterprise. Plan production quantities and coordinate manufacturing schedules with the Production Manager. Work with multi-level bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing assemblies. Identify component requirements across multiple production orders. Required Qualifications Hands-on experience in both production planning and purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Experience working with multi-level BOMs, manufacturing work orders, and material requirements planning. Experience managing purchase orders and supplier delivery schedules. Ability to independently identify material shortages and verify inventory availability. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and inventory reconciliation. Strong Excel and analytical skills. Ability to work full-time on-site in Santa Clara. Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise manufacturing and inventory functions. Background in electronics, instrumentation, industrial equipment, or electromechanical manufacturing. Experience improving manufacturing planning and purchasing processes.
