ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Planner is the person who helps keep production moving, projects organized, and teams aligned. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, and other departments to make sure project plans are realistic, timelines stay on track, and everyone knows what needs to happen next. You'll help turn plans into action by tracking progress, spotting changes or roadblocks early, adjusting manpower needs, and keeping communication flowing across teams. This is a great role for someone who loves solving problems, staying organized, and being right in the middle of how things get built.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Take ownership of production planning for assigned projects Maintain project schedules to ensure timely project initiation, including build location, materials, drawings, and manpower are available, and completion. Coordinate with other departments in engineering, purchasing, and production to ensure materials, drawings, and manpower are available. Monitor project progress, mitigating roadblocks and bottlenecks to keep projects on schedule. Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and resources, and communicate all changes promptly to stakeholders. Review all jobs daily in Appward's Work Order Director to make updates and modifications based on changes in materials, drawings, and manpower availability. Analyze job assignments and workloads to optimize manpower allocation. Identify and address imbalances in manpower immediately. Maintain clear communication with production to ensure alignment between the project plan and production activities. Regularly communicate with Production, HR, and management on forecasted manpower needs Compare planned work against real-time shop activities to detect and resolve discrepancies Investigate variances between expected and actual hours, and recommend corrective actions
REQUIREMENTS
Must have bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering OR have experience in a related role. Must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Must be proficient with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, and type a minimum of 50 wpm. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize workloads. Must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently by email, phone, and radio transmission. Must have strong organizational and communication skills. Must be able to follow directions, effectively manage expectations, and meet deadlines. A basic understanding of mechanical/electrical tools and materials is strongly preferred.

Pay:
$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
