Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule freight shipments. Handle inquiries from drivers, carriers, and internal teams with professionalism and clarity. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries across road transportation operations. Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving logs, freight details, and fleet management records. Communicate effectively via phone calls to dispatch drivers, relay updates, and resolve logistical issues promptly. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by overseeing driver hours of service, safety protocols, and documentation requirements. Collaborate with job site team leads to enhance transportation planning strategies, improve freight handling processes, and streamline logistics workflows. Qualifications Experience in transportation planning, dispatching, or fleet management within a logistics or supply chain environment. Knowledge of transportation management. Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and vehicle tracking software. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette for managing multi-contact phone systems. Ability to analyze data related to shipping & receiving operations to identify opportunities for process improvement. Knowledge of DOT regulations governing road transportation operations is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and reporting purposes. Basic knowledge of QuickBooks or similar systems a plus.
