JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Scheduling Manager, the Production Planner evaluates finished goods inventory levels, sales history and forecasts, raw material availability and production capabilities to plan and schedule production lines to maintain optimal inventory levels, fulfill sales demand and maximize efficiency. This position coordinates with sales, plant operations, plant maintenance, warehousing and distribution and other departments regularly and adjusts as needed to achieve Company objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Production:
1. Create daily and weekly production schedules across all lines at Plant 6. 2. Review customer orders, production requirements, inventory, and available raw material to determine production priorities. 3. Monitor production throughout the day and compare actual production against the established schedule. 4. Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and special customer requirements to production. 5. Coordinate with production and scheduling departments to ensure, raw materials, and transportation align with production schedules. 6. Maintain and update required reports and forecasts. 7. Monitor sales trends and inventory to ensure sales demands are fullfilled. 8. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Familiarity with poultry processing procedures and food safety preferred. 2. Skilled in Microsoft Excel. 3. Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy. 4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, and schedule forms. 6. Ability to communicate effectively with and coordinate between multiple departments and locations to achieve Company objectives. 7. Good judgement and sound decision making skills. 8. Effective oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to walk: use hands, fingers, and tools to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment as needed. Frequently required to stand. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peropheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals and extreme cold. Occasionally required to work outside and occasionally exposed to extreme heat.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
