Job Description
Supply Chain Specialist Job Description:
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing sugar procurement contracts, coordinating inbound logistics, maintaining inventory reporting, and serving as the primary point of contact with suppliers to ensure an efficient, reliable, and uninterrupted sugar supply chain for assigned enterprises. Responsibilities- Create and manage service purchase orders (POs) for all Indiana Sugar Group locations.
- Prepare and distribute weekly reports to ownership, providing accurate updates on purchasing and sales activity.
- Manage purchased contract balances and maintain accurate contract records.
- Prepare and distribute biweekly inventory reports, ensuring inventory data is current and accurate.
- Schedule inbound sugar deliveries with suppliers, coordinate delivery timelines, and create sugar purchase orders (POs).
- Confirm inbound sugar appointment schedules with suppliers and maintain all appointment records in the shared drive.
- Coordinate railcar movements, monitor shipment status, and provide timely updates to all stakeholders to ensure efficient transportation and delivery.
- Coordinate direct sugar loads with suppliers and the Customer Service team to ensure timely deliveries and resolve scheduling issues.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, transportation providers, customer service, and internal stakeholders to support uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor supply chain activities, identify potential issues, and work proactively to minimize disruptions while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of purchasing processes
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Punctual, motivated, detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills in order
- Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or 10-year work experience
