SUMMARY Hands-on logistics position supporting shipping, receiving, inventory, sample handling and related operational activities within a regulated laboratory environment. This role combines physical material handling with detailed system and documentation work, while helping maintain efficient, compliant day-to-day logistics operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including courier and regulated-material shipments, in accordance with established procedures and applicable transportation requirements. Prepare outbound materials, schedule shipments and maintain complete, accurate shipping records and supporting documentation. Receive and inspect incoming sample shipments; verify contents, condition and documentation before entering materials into internal systems. Maintain sample identification, quantities, storage requirements and chain-of-custody records; coordinate transfers to appropriate ambient, refrigerated or frozen storage. Create and verify laboratory processing orders, including requested testing, priority and billing-related information. Receive, organize and track consumable inventory while coordinating priorities with laboratory, project and accounting teams. Support inventory scanning, labeling, material movement, loading/unloading and other general operational or facilities activities. Retrieve and handle chemical samples while following laboratory safety practices and required procedures. Assist with controlled procedures and quality documentation, including reviewing or updating SOPs within electronic quality systems. Identify shipment or inventory discrepancies, communicate issues promptly and maintain organized, audit-ready records.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required; additional college coursework is a plus. Previous hands-on experience in logistics, shipping, receiving, warehouse operations or a similar environment. Experience preparing shipments, maintaining records and coordinating shipping schedules. Ability to work with domestic and international shipping processes; exposure to hazardous-material shipping or transportation regulations is highly valued. Comfort working with computerized inventory, shipping or operational systems; Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency required. Experience in laboratory, sample, compound or other regulated material-management environments is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to documentation accuracy. Ability to manage changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced operational setting. Willingness to complete applicable shipping certifications and forklift training as needed. Ability to regularly sit or stand for extended periods, use material-handling equipment and lift/move items up to 50 lbs.
