Job Overview Works under the direction of the Director of Records and Tissue Operations. Primarily responsible for support of all inventory control, tissue receiving and shipping activities for RBI. Utilizes equipment such as a forklift. Handles dry ice. Conducts office instrument, supply, and equipment evaluations ensuring they are maintained according to manufacturer, company, and regulatory standards. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipments. Responsible for office cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, AATB, and RBI regulations and standards Responsibilities Follow RBI established written procedures in compliance with Federal and State regulations and industry standards, including but not limited to American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the state authorities as applicable with regards to receiving, storing, and shipment of tissue. Responsible for daily office and general care of facilities, up to and including back-up support transportation of supplies or team members. Receive tissue shipments and properly document, label, and store tissue, as well as daily data input for received and shipped tissues. Responsible for inventory tracking, documentation, and cycle count activities. Responsible for the accuracy of inventory and inventory documentation. Responsible for responding to and documentation of temperature monitoring alarms. Participate in emergency on-call inventory activities as required. Responsible for facility equipment preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair as required. Maintain par level with current supplier knowledge of ordering and receiving supplies, as well as assistance with field offices par level as needed. Ensure recovery teams have support so all tissue recoveries have the required supplies and documents thus ensuring all tissues for processing are within the scope of RBI and partner processor protocols. Coordinate shipping of tissues from inventory to processor/researcher. Accurately prepare labels according to appropriate donor identification number. Accurately place donor identification labels on appropriate shipping containers and refrigerator/freezer logs. Report all deviations from RBI established procedures to appropriate personnel. 12. Recommend process improvements to assure the highest quality of service and effectiveness.
