Knowledge of international shipping, customs documentation, temporary exports, return logistics, or freight-forwarding processes. Experience handling calibrated tools, test equipment, controlled records, fragile instruments, customer property, or high-value assets. Experience in a nuclear, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, laboratory, inspection, field-service, or other quality-controlled environment. Summary The Shipping & Receiving Specialist supports LTS field execution by ensuring equipment, tools, materials, consumables, customer-owned property, and project shipments are received, identified, protected, staged, documented, dispatched, tracked, and returned accurately and on time. The role is a key control point for field-kit readiness, equipment custody, inventory accuracy, calibration-status verification, and documentation needed for project closeout and timely customer service. Summary This T-1 position is an execution and development role. The employee works within approved procedures, job requirements, safety rules, Quality controls, and management direction. The role does not independently approve receipt inspection results, release quality-significant material, determine calibration acceptability, authorize international/export transactions, approve purchases, or perform NDT or leak-testing activities unless separately trained, qualified, and formally authorized. Responsibilities Receiving and Internal Support Receive deliveries and compare packages and contents against purchase orders, work orders, packing slips, bills of lading, transfer records, or other approved documentation. Inspect incoming packages and items for visible damage, quantity discrepancies, labeling concerns, missing documentation, or other anomalies. Segregate questionable items and promptly notify Operations, Purchasing, Project Coordination, or Quality, as applicable. Log, tag, and route incoming company equipment, materials, customer-provided samples, test articles, and other property to the authorized department or custodian. Support Quality-controlled receipt inspection by preserving documentation, maintaining segregation, and routing items to authorized Quality personnel. Do not independently accept quality-significant material unless specifically trained and authorized. Coordinate with technicians, project managers, Engineering, Quality, and Operations so incoming resources align with project schedules and readiness needs. Shipping and Equipment Dispatch Prepare, stage, and process outbound domestic and international shipments using approved packaging methods, packing slips, bills of lading, labels, manifests, carrier systems, and required shipment documentation. Begin project shipment planning and staging approximately two to three weeks before the scheduled project start when the project schedule and job requirements permit; immediately escalate late, incomplete, or changing requirements. Use approved job requirements, pick lists, kit lists, and readiness checklists to assemble project-critical equipment, tools, consumables, spare parts, documentation, and accessories. Confirm equipment identification, documented calibration status and due date, protective cases, accessories, batteries, cables, standards, and supporting records before release. Place equipment on hold and escalate when status is missing, expired, inconsistent, or unclear. Coordinate with approved parcel, courier, freight, and specialized carriers, including UPS and FedEx, to arrange pickups, monitor transit, resolve exceptions, and support return logistics. Do not ship without an authorized job reference, approved destination, responsible recipient, documented custody transfer, and required release or review approvals. Warehouse, Inventory, and Custody Maintain chain-of-custody records for company and customer-owned equipment, materials, samples, and test articles from receipt through storage, internal transfer, issue, shipment, field use, return, and final disposition. Maintain accurate inventory, asset, receiving, shipping, and custody records in approved company systems and controlled files; avoid uncontrolled side lists or personal storage locations. Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory, reconciliation, audits, shortage identification, and disposition of damaged, obsolete, excess, or unserviceable items. Maintain clearly identified storage zones for ready-for-use, quarantine, hold, return, customer property, hazardous or controlled items, and equipment awaiting calibration or maintenance. Assist with non-technical readiness tasks such as cleaning cases, organizing accessories, charging batteries, checking packaging materials, and preparing field kits when trained and directed. Protect high-value, fragile, calibrated, customer-owned, or controlled items from loss, damage, contamination, environmental exposure, unauthorized access, or commingling. Safety, Security, and Issue Resolution Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment only when trained and authorized; complete required pre-use checks and report defects. Maintain a clean, secure, labeled, and audit-ready warehouse in accordance with company safety requirements, PPE rules, housekeeping standards, and applicable OSHA requirements. Identify and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, packaging, carrier, and documentation discrepancies within assigned authority; escalate unresolved issues with clear facts, ownership, and required-by dates. Protect customer, company, employee, and other sensitive information by using approved communication, storage, and shipment-documentation channels. Use Stop Work authority when safety, quality, calibration, custody, packaging, documentation, security, or readiness conditions are inadequate.
