Job Description

Job Objective The Distribution Center Quality Control Specialist evaluates and certifies the quality, authenticity, and value of gemstones. They are also responsible for checking the workmanship of product coming from our brand partners and showrooms. This person must learn all DC functions and must be flexible in assisting in all areas within the Distribution Center. Responsibilities
  • Distinguishing between natural and synthetic/ lab-grown stones.
  • Using tools like microscopes and polariscopes for the inspections of jewelry. This includes identifying, testing, and authenticating color, clarity, cut, and carat weight for all diamonds and precious stones.
  • Providing the best course of action on repair/replacement in the event of damaged product.
  • Providing valuations for insurance purposes and writing reports to document the characteristics and value of gemstones.
  • Staying current with market trends, new gemstones, and changes to grading standards.
  • Communicating and collaborating with clients, designers, retailers, and manufacturers.
  • Performs Inventory reconciliations with all DC locations
  • Other duties as assigned by management Education
  • GIA GG or equivalent Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
  • Excellent team player Experience
  • Experience in the jewelry field
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills Preferred Expereince Luxury jewelry and watch product knowledge
  • Distribution Center experience
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
