You will be directly involved in preparing shipments, loading and unloading product, checking orders, working with shipping carriers, solving shipping problems, and helping keep the department organized and running efficiently. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates well, stays organized, and can handle problems without needing constant direction. Responsibilities Prepare, verify, pack, label, and stage customer orders for shipment Make sure the correct products and quantities are being shipped Process shipments through UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, and other carriers Prepare and review shipping documents, labels, bills of lading, and related paperwork Load and unload trucks and assist with physical warehouse duties Coordinate pickups and deliveries with shipping carriers Communicate directly with carriers regarding delays, damages, missed pickups, claims, and other shipping problems Work with shipping vendors and material vendors to help obtain competitive freight and transportation rates Monitor outgoing orders to make sure shipments leave accurately and on time Investigate shipping discrepancies and help resolve customer shipment issues Maintain an organized shipping and staging area Work with warehouse employees to prioritize orders and meet carrier cutoff times Use warehouse scanners, computers, shipping software, and inventory systems Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices Assist with receiving, inventory, cycle counts, and other warehouse duties when needed Help train new employees on shipping procedures when necessary Identify problems or inefficiencies and communicate recommendations for improvement What We're Looking For Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience Experience with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, or similar shipping operations strongly preferred Comfortable using computers, scanners, and shipping software Strong attention to detail and order accuracy Able to communicate professionally with carriers, vendors, customers, and coworkers Comfortable solving problems and making decisions within established procedures Dependable and punctual Able to work independently without constant supervision Willing to help wherever needed in the warehouse Comfortable performing physical warehouse work throughout the day Forklift or pallet-jack experience is a plus Experience with LTL freight, BOLs, hazmat shipping, or freight claims is a plus

Pay:
