Position Summary A premier, nationally recognized long-distance logistics and relocation company is seeking an experienced, proactive Transportation Planner to support our nationwide, interstate operations. This critical, high-visibility role is responsible for the complex routing and schedule planning of our long-haul, Over-the-Road (OTR) CDL drivers. Unlike daily local routes, our drivers handle extensive interstate pickups and deliveries, staying on the road for multiple weeks at a time. The ideal candidate possesses master-level knowledge of Continental U.S. geography and an innate ability to engineer exceptionally tight, optimized, and regulatory-compliant transit schedules. You must excel at real-time problem solving and cross-departmental coordination to keep our fleet moving flawlessly amid a constantly shifting environment.
Key Responsibilities Interstate OTR Planning:
Strategically plan, coordinate, and optimize complex, multi-stop interstate household goods moves and commercial relocations for assigned OTR CDL drivers.
Long-Haul Scheduling:
Build tight, highly efficient dispatch schedules managing driver utilization across extended multiple week regional or coast-to-coast trips.
Dynamic Problem Solving:
Serve as the immediate operational pivot point to confidently manage and adjust schedules for real-time changes, including equipment/truck breakdowns, customer-requested date changes, and traffic disruptions.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Actively communicate and align with Dispatch, Carrier Planning, sales, and internal teams to deliver exact instructions, driver directions, and special handling notes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maximize driver and truck utilization while strictly abiding by FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
System Management:
Accurately input, track, and update active move information, available capacity, and lane visibility within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Required Skills & Competencies Advanced U.S.

Preferred Qualifications Logistics Experience:
1+ years of proven experience in transportation planning, long-haul dispatch, load planning, or interstate freight logistics.
OTR Driver Management:
Prior experience working directly with long-haul OTR CDL drivers who are away for multiple weeks.
Moving Industry Knowledge:
Specialized background in household goods (HHG) moving or multi-stop commercial relocation logistics is highly beneficial.
Compliance Knowledge:
