Job Title:
Generator Technician 70k-90k Job Description The Generator Technician maintains, repairs, deploys, and transports mechanical and electrical equipment, with a strong focus on field-based, hands-on problem solving. This role involves working with generators and related systems, operating forklifts, and supporting various construction, installation, and maintenance activities across multiple locations, including extended travel assignments. Responsibilities Maintain, repair, and service generators and related mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure reliable operation. Deploy and transport equipment to various field locations, including international sites, as needed. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move and position field assets. Perform hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving in the field to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues. Support installation, construction, and setup of mechanical, electrical, piping, and HVAC systems as required. Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to guide installation and repair work. Use hand tools and power tools accurately and safely for mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks. Inspect equipment and systems regularly to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with heavy equipment and field assets. Travel for extended periods (6-8 weeks at a time) to support projects and respond to urgent field needs. Essential Skills Proven mechanical skills with experience working on generators and related equipment. Hands-on experience using a wide range of hand tools for mechanical and electrical repair. Ability to operate forklifts and handle field assets safely and efficiently. Experience with generator repair and mechanical equipment operations in field environments. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues on-site. Willingness and ability to travel for 6-8 weeks at a time, including international travel (e.g., to Kenya). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction, plumbing, carpentry, and installation work. Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings. in electrical, mechanical, piping, and HVAC systems. Familiarity with military or field operations environments is beneficial. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Coconut Creek, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
