Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator / Material Planner is responsible for coordinating aircraft maintenance projects, planning and controlling materials, tracking aircraft downtime, and ensuring all required parts, tooling, and documentation are available to support maintenance activities. This position acts as a liaison between maintenance, purchasing, vendors, quality assurance, and customers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Responsibilities and Duties (included but not limited to): Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance projects. Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and resource plans. Monitor project progress and provide status updates to management and customers. Ensure maintenance events are completed according to FAA regulations, company procedures, and customer requirements. Track aircraft downtime and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Coordinate communication between maintenance teams, vendors, customers, and management. Forecast material requirements based on maintenance schedules and project scope. Review work packages and identify required parts, tooling, and consumables. Plan, order, and expedite aircraft parts and materials to support maintenance operations. Monitor inventory levels and maintain adequate stock of critical components. Research part availability, pricing, lead times, and alternate sourcing options. Coordinate repair, overhaul, exchange, and warranty activity with approved vendors. Track incoming shipments and ensure timely receipt of parts. Manage material shortages and develop corrective action plans to minimize project delays.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of aviation maintenance, material planning, supply chain, or project coordination experience. Working knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft maintenance processes, and aviation supply chain operations. Experience with inventory management and procurement systems. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
