This is not simply a position that processes purchase orders. We are looking for someone who thinks strategically about what we buy, how much we buy, when we buy it, who we buy it from, and how we can use data and technology to make those decisions better. The right person will have a college degree and some real-world experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, supply chain, operations, analytics, or a related field. More importantly, we are looking for someone with initiative, curiosity, strong analytical ability, and the desire to grow into greater responsibility. WHAT YOU'LL HELP US DO

You'll work closely with KAMO leadership to strengthen purchasing, inventory management, vendor performance, and our overall supply chain.

Your responsibilities will include:

Analyze inventory usage, sales history, lead times, and purchasing patterns to determine appropriate stocking levels. Help establish and continually improve PAR levels, reorder points, safety stock, and purchasing quantities. Identify potential stockouts before they become backorders. Analyze slow-moving and excess inventory and recommend actions to improve inventory performance. Create and manage purchase orders and follow orders through delivery. Develop strong working relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendor representatives. Monitor vendor lead times, fill rates, pricing, freight, minimum-order requirements, and overall performance. Help negotiate pricing, purchasing programs, freight opportunities, and vendor terms. Identify alternative suppliers and products when availability or pricing becomes an issue. Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Receiving, and Finance. Help leadership understand what our inventory data is telling us and recommend action. Develop useful purchasing and supply-chain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs. Help improve the accuracy and effectiveness of our ERP purchasing and inventory information. Identify inefficient processes and help redesign them. Explore practical ways to use AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technology to make purchasing and supply-chain decisions faster and better.

THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are not looking only for years of experience. We are looking for ability, initiative, judgment, and potential. You may be a strong fit if you: Have a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Analytics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Have approximately 2-5 years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, operations, or a related area. Understand the fundamentals of inventory planning and purchasing. Are comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, ERP systems, and data. Have strong Excel skills and enjoy analyzing information. Can look beyond today's purchase order and think about what we will need 30, 60, or 90 days from now. Understand that good purchasing means balancing product availability, inventory investment, vendor performance, and customer needs. Communicate professionally and confidently with vendors and internal teams. Are organized enough to manage details without losing sight of the bigger picture. Take ownership of problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them. Are naturally curious and regularly ask, "Is there a better way to do this?" Are interested in AI and new technology and can envision practical ways to apply them in a real business environment. Want to learn, grow, and eventually take on greater supply-chain leadership responsibility. Experience with distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, inventory-intensive businesses, ERP systems, Power BI, advanced Excel, data analytics, or AI tools is especially valuable.

Pay:

$25.80 - $30.00 per hour
