Job Description

Oversee distribution and transportation operations within the organization, ensuring seamless logistical processes, optimizing transportation routes, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet delivery deadlines. This position Is crucial to the efficient and timely delivery of goods to meet customer demands. 1st
Shift:
6:00AM - 3:15PM, Monday - Friday Responsibilities Oversees the movement of goods and materials from suppliers to customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route orders, monitor carrier performance, and resolve delivery issues. Coordinate Customer Pick-Up (CPU) scheduling with carriers and manage load consolidation sailing schedule. Handle urgent/expedite orders efficiently while minimizing costs. Ensure compliance of all new orders with weight and shipment method guidelines. Coordinate Less than Truckload (LTL) shipments and collaborate with Inventory and Operations teams on returns. Schedule appointments in WMS and work with drop carriers to maintain trailer pool. Collaborate with relevant parties to address loads not scheduled by the end of the period and review the previous day's dock schedule to ensure timely shipment of all orders, rescheduling as necessary. Address delivery scheduling issues and collaborate with Customer Supply Chain (CSC). Maintain SAP records for open orders and ensure all orders are shipped according to schedule, including advising if there are any special shipping requirements. Escalate any emerging customer-driven delivery issues to the appropriate customer channels. Communicate special shipping requirements and daily yard check updates to carriers. Cross-train to support various distribution center functions. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience 2+ years of management experience in transportation operations. Previous experience with transportation management systems (TMS), logistics supply chain systems and inventory management software. Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements. Must work and participate effectively in a team environment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in MS Office specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point. Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations. Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organization skills. Demonstrating effective and timely communication skills both internally and externally, through verbal and written channels. Preferred Skills and Experience Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus. Eagerness for continuous learning.
