Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Logistics Specialist to coordinate the movement, storage, and delivery of goods and materials. This role is responsible for tracking shipments, maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory control, communicating with carriers and vendors, and helping ensure products are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and in good condition. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to supporting efficient supply chain operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Track orders, shipments, and inventory levels using company systems and logistics tools.
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documents, delivery records, bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and related paperwork.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, customers, warehouse staff, and internal departments to resolve shipment or inventory issues.
- Schedule pickups, deliveries, and freight movement while considering cost, service level, route efficiency, and customer requirements.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, receiving, staging, and stock accuracy as needed.
- Support warehouse and distribution processes to improve accuracy, productivity, and safety.
- Maintain logistics reports, performance metrics, and records related to cost, delivery times, carrier performance, and service levels.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety procedures, and applicable transportation regulations.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service throughout the order fulfillment and delivery process.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or supply chain operations preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents, order details, inventory records, and delivery schedules.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with vendors, carriers, customers, and team members.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to delays, discrepancies, or changing priorities.
