Job Description

Position Overview TES Recruiting is partnering with a growing manufacturing company near Dalton, GA seeking a Supply Chain Improvement Manager to improve raw-material availability, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and operating processes across two manufacturing facilities. This is a hands-on, plant-based role that combines supply chain execution with continuous improvement. The initial focus will be heavily weighted toward materials planning, inventory management, purchasing coordination, supplier communication, and ERP/MRP execution. As the individual becomes familiar with the operation, the role will take on additional Lean Manufacturing and process-improvement responsibilities. This opportunity is well suited for an experienced Materials Planner, Buyer/Planner, Production Planner, Materials Supervisor, Inventory Manager, or supply chain professional who enjoys solving problems on the production floor and working across departments to improve results. Responsibilities Manage raw-material availability and inventory performance across two manufacturing facilities Monitor inventory accuracy, safety stock, supplier lead times, material shortages, and excess or obsolete inventory Coordinate purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier updates, and material-expediting needs Work closely with production, scheduling, purchasing, warehouse, and plant leadership Maintain accurate ERP/MRP information and help improve materials-planning processes Analyze inventory and operational data to identify shortages, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities Investigate material-flow and supplier-performance problems and help implement lasting corrective actions Support and lead improvement activities involving 5S, root-cause analysis, standard work, waste reduction, and process discipline Participate in Kaizen and continuous-improvement projects Develop practical processes that improve material availability, inventory accuracy, and plant performance Influence change across departments without relying solely on direct authority Qualifications Three or more years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, production planning, supply chain, or a related manufacturing function Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment Understanding of inventory accuracy, safety stock, lead times, FIFO, material shortages, and supplier performance Experience with ERP or MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Axiom, Amtech, Plex, QAD, or a similar platform Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, production employees, planners, and plant leadership Comfortable spending time on the production floor and personally investigating problems Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, or continuous improvement is preferred Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification is a plus Corrugated, packaging, paper, flooring, automotive, food, plastics, or other manufacturing experience is helpful but not required Why Consider This Opportunity? Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
