POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing all master scheduling activities which includes creating and maintaining a valid master schedule for material, capacities and inventory by effectively balancing supply and demand for product developing the schedule at the highest level at which products will be planned wither prior to shipment (for made-to-stock operations) or prior to final assembly (for assemble-to-order operations), determining, monitoring and recommending adjustments to the limits of capacity for work centers or departments to assure consistency with the master production schedule and coordinating material plan and inventory plan to assure the supply for the demand. Maintains a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, rescheduling, and load leveling. Analyzes demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out of balance conditions, identifying alternatives and recommending action. Works with sales, marketing and manufacturing to better understand competitive lead times for master scheduled items seeking ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to the customer. Challenges current manufacturing strategies for all product lines to be sure that the best and most customer oriented strategy is being used. Looks for ways to move the company to make to order manufacturing. Conducts rough-cut capacity planning prior to publishing a master schedule in which significant changes have occurred. Acts as internal educator and consultant on master scheduling issues providing education and training throughout the company to improve company wide understanding of master production schedule (MPS) functions. Identifies, negotiates and resolves conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising integrity. Issues MTS replenishing order based on DRP requirement. Examines and confirms the conversion of forecast to supply requirement that can be used for inventory plan, material and capacity planning as well as financial planning and that satisfies customer demand with optimum inventory levels and resource utilization. Assists demand management in setting priorities when demand outstrips the company's supply or products or the resources necessary to build the requested product. Informs management when demand can not be met and recommends alternatives as to how the requested demand could be satisfied. Manages the development of inventory targets of both finished goods, WIP and raw materials Develops and maintains material requirement plans to assure the material is available for manufacturing when necessary. Controls and generates purchase requisition for planned raw materials and finished goods and sends them to purchasing group for the execution of purchase. Leads and effectively utilizes staff to achieve desired results.

Pay:

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
