Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Coordinator / Production Planner / Scheduler to coordinate manufacturing schedules, production priorities, and workflow within a metal fabrication environment. This position will play a key role in maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS), tracking work orders, communicating production priorities, and ensuring customer commitments and revenue targets remain on schedule. Responsibilities Implement, maintain, and continuously monitor the Master Production Schedule (MPS) Track and communicate MPS changes, production priorities, and scheduling requirements to department leads Create and input new work orders within the ERP system Issue job route sheets and maintain accurate production documentation Process, communicate, and track expedite requests Monitor production progress and communicate job status to internal stakeholders Coordinate with external vendors and stakeholders regarding priorities for outsourced manufacturing processes Identify scheduling conflicts, production constraints, and potential delivery issues Forecast and track monthly revenue based on production schedules and expected completion dates Track manufacturing productivity and assist with continuous improvement initiatives Support troubleshooting of quality defects using 5-Why, DMAIC, root-cause analysis, and other quality tools Assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvements Work closely with production leadership to maintain efficient workflow, quality, and on-time delivery Qualifications 3+ years of manufacturing leadership, production planning, or scheduling experience Previous experience within a metal fabrication or metal manufacturing environment Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and scheduling principles Experience working with ERP/MRP systems , including work orders and production tracking Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining a Master Production Schedule (MPS) Experience tracking manufacturing productivity and production performance Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement Familiarity with manufacturing quality control systems and root-cause analysis Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage changing production priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Six Sigma / DMAIC knowledge is a plus, but not required What We're Looking For The ideal candidate understands how scheduling decisions affect the entire manufacturing operation.
