Job Overview Handi-foil Corp., the industry leader in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of disposable aluminum bakeware and foodservice products, has an immediate opening for a Mid-level Demand Planner/Buyer based out of its facility in Wheeling, IL. This privately held company has been in business for forty years and is experiencing strong growth year after year.
Position Overview:
Utilize MRP software (ORACLE, SAP or other top-tier ERP system experience preferred) and supporting worksheets that support production planning, capacity planning, and operational management. Plan and release purchase orders to vendors. Ensure material supply plans support sales plan and inventory targets (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.); you may need to adjust purchase orders as needed to meet production and customer expectations. Relay relevant information to management regarding material shortages, potential schedule interruptions and possible equipment maintenance that would affect a smooth and timely production output. Maintain, update, and review customer forecasts for sales adherence and improved material planning. Analyze customer demand information, forecasts, orders, machine, and material availability to develop a flexible yet efficient material plan. As needed, assist in expediting raw materials to ensure customer deliveries are in accordance with schedule. Oversee and execute Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for various large customers. Knowledge of sourcing/buying practices for raw materials a plus, specifically replenishment buying.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (prefer Supply Chain or related). Solid experience utilizing MRP software (ORACLE, SAP or other top-tier ERP system. At least 3-5 years of experience in a High-Volume manufacturing environment. Stable work history Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills; a strong team player. Knowledge of manufacturing principles and operations.
