Job Description
Part of Dover Corporation's Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift(R), Chief(R), Forward(R), Direct-Lift(R), Ravaglioli, Hanmecson(R), Revolution(R), Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing assigned duties to optimize the effectiveness of the supply chain function. Responsibilities including planning, inventory control, kanban implementation/utilization, lead-time reduction, engineering change notice/new product launch material planning, total cost reduction activities, and some procurement activity. Under a minimum of supervision, release/order materials and product to established supply base insuring satisfactory quality and delivery to meet Company objectives and customer requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
- Assures optimum inventory/kanban levels and on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges.
- Materials planning for release and/or ordering of materials and supplies to achieve on-time deliveries at the optimum inventory investment. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages.
- Follows materials practices, contracts, assessments, and policies to insure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with our suppliers.
- Implements policies/procedures/processes that ensure the accurate processing of inventory and production transactions. Includes responsibility for the kanban process for material delivery.
- Manages assigned commodities for inventory/data integrity, cycle counts, obsolete/excess inventory, returned material, engineering change notice/new product launch material planning, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Prepares and issues all necessary reports and/or correspondence.
- Fully support NPD stage gate process under the direction of the Commodity Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
