1st shift Sunday to Thursday 7am to 3pm & 2nd Shift Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm Position Overview Premier Staffing Solutions is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Gate Transportation Clerks to support transportation, logistics, and gate operations within a large-scale distribution and appliance manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY. This role serves as a critical link between drivers, carriers, dispatch teams, and plant operations by ensuring the accurate processing of inbound and outbound transportation activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Process inbound and outbound drivers through transportation and gate management systems. Verify driver identification, credentials, appointments, and required shipping documentation. Review and validate Bills of Lading (BOL), SCAC codes, trailer numbers, and carrier information. Assign, track, and maintain RFID tags and trailer inventory records. Troubleshoot and resolve transportation paperwork, scheduling, and system discrepancies. Conduct trailer yard inspections and lot audits using company vehicles. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, dispatch personnel, transportation teams, and plant operations. Generate, extract, and maintain transportation, yard management, and inventory reports. Ensure accurate recordkeeping, filing, and documentation of transportation activities. Monitor transportation operations for safety, compliance, and procedural adherence. Escalate operational, safety, or compliance concerns to management as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to transportation and yard operations. Qualifications Previous experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, gate operations, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or supply chain environments preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly. Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and various shifts as needed. Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), RFID tracking systems, or logistics software is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Professional verbal and written communication skills. Strong sense of urgency and commitment to operational excellence. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Working knowledge of transportation processes, carrier operations, and logistics workflows preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
