As a Supply Chain Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply of animal feed ingredients across multiple locations. Your focus will be on effective inventory management. You will analyze inventory, monitor supply risks, and collaborate closely with internal teams to support business goals and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management Plan, manage, and optimize inventory levels across all locations to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock. Review usage trends, forecasts, and production requirements to align purchasing with future demand. Proactively adjust inventory strategies based on seasonality, lead times, and market conditions. Supplier Coordination & Performance Management Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors to ensure smooth and timely deliveries. Monitor supplier performance through metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Identify and address potential supply chain disruptions by developing contingency and backup sourcing plans. Operational Execution Process and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely approval. Coordinate shipments and logistics to align with plant schedules and minimize freight costs. Use available systems to maintain visibility on inventory levels, purchase orders, and in-transit shipments. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with operations, customer service, finance, and sales teams to align supply chain decisions with business needs. Communicate market insights, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making. Continuous Improvement Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier collaboration. Support sustainability and quality initiatives related to ingredient sourcing and supply chain management. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience with inventory optimization, forecasting, demand planning, and replenishment processes. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, or other business intelligence and planning tools. Knowledge of manufacturing, animal nutrition, feed, agriculture, or food production environments. Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiencies through data-driven decision making. Alltech is an equal opportunity employer.
