About the
Role:
The Shipping & Receiving position is critical to ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods into and out of a company's warehouse or distribution center. This role involves managing the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming shipments, as well as preparing and organizing outgoing shipments to meet delivery schedules. The individual in this role will collaborate closely with inventory control, logistics, and customer service teams to maintain seamless supply chain operations. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and compliance standards are essential to prevent errors and damage to products. Ultimately, this position supports the company's operational goals by maintaining inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems. Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment preferred or willingness to become certified. Experience with shipping software and barcode scanning technology. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality. Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements. Maintain organized and clean shipping and receiving areas to promote safety and efficiency. Coordinate with warehouse staff and logistics providers to schedule and track shipments. Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or delays in shipments to management. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Update inventory records and assist with cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards related to shipping and receiving.

Basic computer proficiency enables the candidate to efficiently use inventory management systems and shipping software to track and document shipments. Physical stamina and safe operation of equipment like forklifts are necessary for handling heavy packages and maintaining a safe work environment. Preferred skills, including forklift certification and knowledge of safety regulations, enhance the candidate's ability to perform tasks more efficiently and reduce workplace risks.
