Job Description
Your job is more than a job. The Receiver unloads, unpacks, receives incoming supplies and processes outgoing package deliveries. Works with the appropriate electronic systems and devices to receive, generate reports and related documents. Delivers supplies, furnishings and equipment as necessary to requesting areas. Your every day Assists in unloading and sorting incoming supplies from commercial freight lines. Counts and verifies quantity on each packing list, checks items for damage prior to signing for goods and marks exceptions as needed. Notifies Supply Chain Purchasing of any discrepancies or damaged goods. Files damage claims according to established procedure. Dates, files packing lists and receives and processes Fed-Ex, UPS and express packages in a timely and efficient manner using electronic handheld devices while giving priority to rush items. Matches incoming deliveries to PO numbers, receives items using the appropriate electronic systems and devices and generates receiving reports from verified packing lists. Delivers freight to all locations as appropriate and completes necessary delivery confirmation. Assists to augment workflow during periods of high census. Delivers special purchase items to the requesting area and obtains authorized signature of the recipient for the release of such items. Your must haves High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving and picking goods, logistics, distribution, purchasing, warehousing or inventory management required. Basic understanding of supply chain fundamentals. Customer Service skills and problem solving attitude. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to Use an electronic handheld device for inventory purposes. Ability to utilize laptop or desktop. Willingness to learn new skills as the need arises. Willingness to work in an environment where processes, procedures or technology may change quickly.
