Job Overview
Lead end-to-end, study-level contracting execution for complex clinical vendor categories supporting global Phase I-IV clinical trials.
Manage contracting activities for areas such as CRO services, central laboratories, clinical technology providers, and other large functional service categories.
Manage specification intake, vendor budgets, scope validation, pricing, Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and closeout documentation.
Partner with Clinical Operations, Category Management, Finance, and Legal to ensure compliant and commercially sound contracting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead specification collection and validation with Clinical Trial Leads and Study Management Teams.
Develop and negotiate detailed vendor budgets and conduct pricing comparisons.
Identify scope gaps, duplication, pricing issues, and changes impacting contracts.
Negotiate scope, assumptions, pricing adjustments, and contractual language within established MSA frameworks.
Draft, review, and finalize SOWs, amendments, change orders, and closeout agreements.
Drive vendors to meet contracting timelines.
Ensure contracts comply with ICH GCP standards, procurement policies, and regulatory requirements.
Apply Fair Market Value (FMV) methodologies and financial controls to validate vendor proposals.
Maintain appropriate contracting documentation and support audit/inspection readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
5-7 years of procurement, sourcing, or contract management experience within biotech/pharma or similarly regulated industries.
Advanced degree and/or legal/contracting background is a plus.
