This is a part-time opportunity, and the Transportation Specialist will be primarily responsible for Scholar transportation, as well as general program support. Our part-time Transportation Specialist will work an average of 12.5 hours each week. Shifts are Monday-Friday from 6:30am-9am. Must arrive on-site by 6:30am and use assigned company vehicle for transportation routes. Company vehicles must be returned on-site by 9am unless prior approval from supervisor is granted. Responsibilities Provide reliable and safe transportation for our scholars using Hope Ignites vehicles. Assist in maintaining vehicles by ensuring vehicles are fueled and cleaned, as well as ensuring mileage is accurately recorded. Report all needed maintenance and repairs to the Director of Operations and Engagement. Assist with taking the vehicles for oil changes and other maintenance as needed. Experience & Education Qualified applicants must possess high school diploma or equivalent. Considerable driving experience is expected. Experience working with youth from underserved communities is preferred. Compensation and Benefits Part-time employees working 20+ hours/week are eligible for paid-time off. Job Requirements Be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Successful completion of a sex offender & criminal background check Successful completion of a TB screening and drug test Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the scholars, co-workers, and supervisors Be a role model to the youth by maintaining positive relations with scholars and all individuals with whom you come into contact with Must be comfortable driving to and from locations throughout Baltimore city and county Ability to complete required online training sessions (company laptop available for use to ensure compliance) Use of personal phone for navigation and communication.
