Job Description

Shipping Coordinator .
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Logistics & Shipping Coordinator to support domestic and international shipping operations in a fast-paced, federally regulated environment. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing freight documentation, preparing packaging and loading activities, handling carrier communication, processing claims, and supporting bid portal activity. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, safety-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation. Prepare shipping paperwork including bills of lading, customs documentation, commercial invoices, and export/import records. Work with freight carriers, brokers, and vendors to obtain quotes, coordinate pickups, and ensure on-time delivery. Manage and monitor freight bid portals and assist with logistics pricing and carrier selection. Process and track insurance, freight damage, and shipping claims with carriers and insurance providers. Package, crate, and prepare equipment and materials for shipment to ensure safe transport and compliance requirements. Assist with loading and unloading shipments safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, and receiving records. Coordinate with internal departments to support project schedules and customer delivery expectations. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, shipping regulations, and federal requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse/shipping environment. Required Experience with domestic and international shipping coordination. DOT certified Familiarity with freight carriers, shipping documentation, and logistics processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift and move materials as required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and shipping/logistics software platforms. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis, due to federal regulatory requirements. Preferred Forklift experience and/or certification. Experience with freight bid portals and carrier negotiations. Experience processing freight insurance or damage claims. Warehouse, packing, crating, or inventory management experience. Knowledge of import/export compliance procedures.
Work Environment:
Combination of office, warehouse, and loading/shipping dock environments. May require standing, lifting, bending, and operating warehouse equipment. Occasional overtime or schedule flexibility may be required based on shipping demands.
