Job Description

Materials Planner - $60k-$65K per/year We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Planner to join our manufacturing team in Thurmont, MD. In this role, you will ensure the timely availability of materials needed to meet production schedules while optimizing inventory levels, controlling costs, and supporting operational efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a problem-solver who enjoys working cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and purchase materials to support production requirements while balancing inventory, lead times, cost, and service levels. Manage supplier orders and ensure materials are delivered on time to meet manufacturing schedules. Monitor inventory levels, material availability, shortages, and returns, taking action to prevent production disruptions. Collaborate with plant operations, procurement, quality, customer service, and suppliers to resolve issues and support changing business needs. Maintain inventory accuracy through effective use of MRP systems and inventory control practices. Support product transitions, continuous improvement initiatives, and semiannual physical inventories. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, materials planning, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
