The Role We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative Freight & Logistics Specialist to coordinate freight movements, tracks carrier performance, and resolves customs and delivery issues across supply chain networks. This role evaluates freight spend, determines appropriate service levels across business lines, and manages carrier relationships to ensure cost-effective, timely component distribution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications RequiredBachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and direct operational experience1 to 3 years of professional experience in logistics management, transportation analysis, or supply chain operations

Join a culture built on a century of Ford innovation and a commitment to world-class service.The Role We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative Freight & Logistics Specialist to coordinate freight movements, tracks carrier performance, and resolves customs and delivery issues across supply chain networks. This role evaluates freight spend, determines appropriate service levels across business lines, and manages carrier relationships to ensure cost-effective, timely component distribution.
Essential FunctionsCarrier Relationship Management:
Establishes and maintains long-term carrier relationships through regular performance communication, business reviews and operational meetings, system profile maintenance, and cross-functional alignment across the supply base to ensure routing guides adherence.Transportation Planning and Coordination:
Coordinates and manages carrier shipment tracking and visibility tools to proactively identify delays, mitigate supply disruptions, and resolve operational transport bottlenecks.Freight Rate and Invoice Governance:
Analyzes, verifies, and approves or disputes transportation invoices while monitoring and controlling premium freight requests to ensure cost controls and service level compliance.Performance Reporting and Analytics:
Designs, implements, and monitors transportation tracking reports and carrier scorecards that measure on-time delivery, damage rates, and service failures to identify operational trends.Quality and Supply Chain Metrics Tracking:
Tracks and reports Quality Operating System (QOS) metrics and supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous functional improvement.Performs other duties as assigned.
