Job Description

About the Role As a Material Logistics Specialist, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing lifecycle by managing the flow of raw materials to ensure production lines operate at peak efficiency. You will utilize your expertise in heavy equipment operation and inventory management to maintain a seamless supply chain within our facility. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport, stage, and store heavy steel coils, ensuring optimal material availability for press operations. Execute precise inventory transactions within our Warehouse Management Software to maintain 100% accuracy in stock levels, weights, and material identification. Perform rigorous quality inspections on incoming shipments, verifying material specifications against documentation to prevent production delays. Collaborate with production teams to facilitate efficient coil changes and machine setups, directly contributing to reduced downtime and increased throughput. Maintain a high standard of workplace organization by adhering to 5S methodologies and keeping the material bay clear of debris. Support cross-functional teams by assisting with scrap management, tooling tryouts, and quality sorting tasks as needed. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in heavy material handling and warehouse operations. Current certification for forklift and overhead crane operation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate digital inventory records. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds and frequent movement. Preferred Skills Proficiency with RF scanners and modern Warehouse Management Systems. Prior experience in a fast-paced metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety standards.
