Dispatcher

Job Description

General Description:
Coordinate daily field activities to ensure effective completion of all projects. Provide operational support to drivers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule the work to be performed
  • Assign personnel and equipment for specific tasks/jobsites based on training, experience and endorsements of each employee
  • Dispatch drivers through use of scheduling software
  • Maintain accuracy in scheduling software to include any changes throughout the day
  • Prepare and distribute all needed paperwork (work orders, manifests, safety forms, etc.) to personnel
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of per-diem requests submitted by drivers
  • Assist with tracking credit card reports for transportation staff
  • Monitor drivers Hours of Service, Pre and Post Trip Inspections for DOT compliance
  • Perform customer service functions to assist clients with scheduling work, waste disposal, manifesting and pick-up/disposal status
  • Track location of equipment and personnel daily using Schedule-It and Samsara
  • Communicate with Fleet Manager regarding equipment in need of repair
  • Prepare daily and monthly reports as requested
  • Serve as primary point of contact for transportation employees during normal business hours
  • Schedule disposal appointments with disposal sites
  • Tracking of roll-off boxes and vac-boxes
  • Interacts and assists sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction and work completion
  • Communicate with human resources regarding time off requests for drivers
  • Coordinate with other divisions as needed
  • Purchase order requests
  • Participate in weekly scheduling meetings
  • Assist Director of Planning & Logistics as needed
  • Support and comply with all components of the company's safety program . Serve as a mentor when needed

Additional tasks may be requested as needed to meet overall objectives of the Taplin Companies. : Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task Excellent Interpersonal skills and leadership abilities Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet skills Thorough knowledge of company field equipment and its capabilities. Clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Company's current auto insurance carrier Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience 3 years

Full-time Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
