2+ years of manufacturing warehouse/outbound shipping experience Help Drive Smarter, More Efficient Transportation Operations Our client is seeking a Logistics Specialist to coordinate outbound transportation, improve shipping efficiency, and ensure reliable service to customers. This position combines hands-on shipment coordination with transportation planning, TMS utilization, data analysis, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the day-to-day realities of manufacturing logistics and enjoys solving problems, coordinating across multiple teams, and identifying ways to reduce freight costs while improving delivery performance. Key Focus Outbound shipping and transportation coordination Carrier scheduling and freight routing Transportation Management System (TMS) utilization Freight cost and route optimization Customer and cross-functional communication Logistics reporting and performance analysis Continuous improvement What You'll Do Coordinate outbound shipments, carrier schedules, and freight routing to meet customer delivery requirements. Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) to support efficient routing and transportation planning. Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delivery questions, and transportation issues. Work closely with internal teams, carriers, and other partners to resolve shipping and logistics challenges. Review shipping documentation and sales orders for accuracy and compliance. Monitor shipment activity, transportation performance, and delivery metrics. Analyze logistics data and prepare reports to identify operational issues and improvement opportunities. Evaluate carrier performance and transportation routes to identify potential freight cost savings. Develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and service reliability. Partner with internal teams and technology providers to improve logistics systems, reporting, and data accuracy. Support continuous improvement initiatives across shipping and transportation operations. At the Level II level, provide team guidance, coordinate work assignments, and support employee development. At the Level II level, assist with material handling, production activities, and swing-shift operations as needed. What We're Looking For 2+ years of warehouse or outbound shipping experience within a manufacturing environment. 5+ years of relevant experience for Level II consideration. Experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS) . Strong understanding of outbound transportation, carrier coordination, and freight routing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot shipping issues and evaluate logistics data. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, drivers, and cross-functional internal teams. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in improving processes, reducing costs, and strengthening service. Level II candidates should have demonstrated experience with transportation optimization, team leadership, work coordination, and performance management.
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical certification. Bachelor's degree preferred for Level II. Inventory control experience, particularly for Level II candidates.
