Duties Manage dental appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks to ensure efficient patient flow. Verify patient insurance coverage and update health information in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Coordinate with clinical staff to confirm appointment times, prepare care plans, and facilitate smooth patient transitions between services. Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, providing exceptional patient service and answering inquiries about appointments, billing, or insurance. Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare billing requirements. Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents electronically and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently. Support medical billing processes by collecting payments, processing claims related to dental procedures, and following up on outstanding balances. Requirements Proven experience in medical administrative support or dental office management with clinic experience preferred. Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of health insurance policies including HIPAA regulations, Medicare billing procedures, and medical coding (CPT coding, ICD-9/10). Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation accurately and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner and strong communication abilities. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for administrative tasks. Previous experience in medical billing or medical records management is highly desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all clinical confidentiality policies at all times. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical administration or office management is advantageous.
