Job Description
Logistics Specialist Position Summary The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the movement of materials, components, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing operation. This position works closely with suppliers, carriers, production, purchasing, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure materials and products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Essential Responsibilities Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling carriers and pickups. Monitor shipments and track deliveries to ensure on-time performance. Prepare and maintain shipping, receiving, and transportation documentation. Coordinate the movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods between suppliers, warehouses, and production areas. Communicate with suppliers and transportation providers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and discrepancies. Work closely with Production and Purchasing to ensure materials are available when needed. Maintain accurate inventory and logistics records within the ERP system. Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, and delivery discrepancies. Assist with freight coordination, cost tracking, and carrier performance. Ensure shipments comply with company procedures and customer requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics, inventory, and material flow. Maintain organized records and provide logistics reports as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with an ERP/MRP system preferred. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility as needed.
