Transportation Logistics Specialist Location:
Inver Grove, Minnesota (On-Site)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Transportation Logistics Specialist for a 6-month contract supporting efficient truck transportation for materials and products across key business areas. This position plays an important part in rate negotiations, carrier management, freight pricing, and day-to-day transportation operations that help keep shipments moving smoothly and costs controlled.
Responsibilities:
Support carrier management activities through rate negotiations, relationship management, capacity management, shipment execution, truck carrier segmentation, and spend oversight. Negotiate transportation rates and contract terms, maximize load pairing opportunities, and help create value across product lines. Analyze transportation practices to identify process and cost improvement opportunities and resolve operational issues independently. Monitor carrier performance and KPI trends, update transportation systems and records, and help resolve freight invoice issues to support accurate payments.
Required:
Experience working under general supervision and independently solving transportation-related issues. Ability to negotiate rates and contract terms for transportation services in a competitive, business-focused environment. Experience serving as a subject matter resource on transportation markets and rates. Ability to update TMS records, internal documents, spreadsheets, databases, and systems for contracts, freight rates, volume estimates, and customer information. Availability to work Monday through Friday on-site in Lincoln, NE, with openness to potential overtime during harvest season. Two rounds of interviews, including a first round with the Hiring Manager and a second-round panel interview, are part of the process.
