Role:

As a Material Planner - Level II, you will translate customer demand into production schedules and material plans that support on-time delivery. You will coordinate fabrication and purchasing requirements, verify material availability and production capacity, and manage inventory levels to keep work moving through manufacturing. Working with the Supply Chain Manager and teams across the operation, you will identify shortages, anticipate scheduling conflicts, and adjust priorities as conditions change. This role suits someone who enjoys solving planning problems, maintains accurate records, and follows through on the details that help production meet customer commitments.

What You Will Do:

Review customer orders, material requirements planning (MRP) reports, replenishment requests, and bills of material to determine production, purchasing, and kanban replenishment needs. Establish need dates and due dates for purchased and fabricated parts, comparing requirements with lead times to identify potential shortages, delays, and priorities. Schedule fabrication and purchasing requirements using established procedures and identify critical activities that could affect delivery. Firm work orders before release by confirming capacity, parts, materials, and other resources needed to complete scheduled work. Release work orders ahead of planned start dates to requisition parts and supplies and commit necessary resources. Plan appropriate inventory buffers and allowances for material movement and queue time so schedules can accommodate disruptions. Schedule work using finite and infinite resource planning methods, adjusting schedules according to company guidelines. Monitor work order completion and incoming material receipts against the schedule; expedite work when needed. Coordinate with colleagues to assess material, equipment, and resource availability, resolve workflow issues, and communicate schedule changes. Maintain accurate records of drawings, terms, and other planning documents. Coordinate material movement and the disposition of overstock items with the appropriate teams. Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Five years of planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when reviewing schedules, material requirements, and inventory information. Clear communication skills and a sense of urgency when addressing shortages, delays, and changing priorities. Ability to remain effective through frequent interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workloads.

Preferred Qualifications:

APICS certification. Project management experience.
