About The Position The Distribution Design position is primarily responsible for customer service, technical design, estimating, and system improvements regarding construction on utility distribution lines.
Key responsibilities include:
Operate as the Primary Point of Contact for customer driven work from inception through completion of construction. Work independently and on design projects of all complexity. Process and monitor customer applications for service, providing customer with information on rates, charges, programs, service requirements, and other technical expertise as required Obtain all required customer approvals, easements, and rights-of-way to prepare appropriate contracts, permits, releases, plats, and records. Work with customers, electricians, do it yourselfers, and homeowners to ensure that electrical installations are compliant with Ameren Missouri specifications, including inspection of customer installed facilities. Make field inspections and prepare material and labor estimates and all plats and drawings for proposed construction, rehabilitation, relocation, or maintenance of company-owned facilities. Design all jobs in accordance with Company standards, or seeking approved Standard Deviations when required Recognize and refer opportunities for implementation of Company marketing programs by maintaining a partnership with marketing functions. Provide support for storm assessment / restoration efforts. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary. Accept and handle special requests, as assigned. Qualifications Distribution Design Specialist Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience (e.g., utility distribution line design or construction, GIS mapping, cost estimation or control, surveying, engineering or design experience, construction or construction inspection, project management, negotiation for easements) is required; or Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years relevant experience is required. Five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Distribution Design Consultant Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, etc.) and 5 years of directly relevant experience is required (e.g., utility distribution line design or construction, GIS mapping, cost estimation or control, surveying, engineering or design experience, construction, construction inspection, project management, etc.). Associate's Degree and 7 years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Good decision-making, communication, and human relations skills. Knowledge of electric standards, procedures and distribution systems preferred. Basic mechanical skills. Additional Information Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Subject to emergency call-out and duty supervisor responsibilities. Considerable walking over rough terrain.
Compensation Range:
$71,100.00 - $115,900.00 This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials. At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
